I have a different style of photography than most people are used to. If one were to look at the results of a typical commercial photography session next to mine the differences would be stark and apparent. I try to find new ways to look at familiar moments, and capture them in a way nobody has done before. My colleague David Bailey said it best:
It takes a lot of imagination to be a good photographer. You need less imagination to be a painter, because you can invent things. But in photography everything is so ordinary; it takes a lot of looking before you learn to see the extraordinary.
It is because of this that you won’t see the traditional say cheese portraits from me. I strive to capture the true personality of my subjects. I want them look at the pictures I took for them many years from now and say – Yes, that was me. My style has been described as fresh, fun, and colorful, and I believe that captures what I try to do perfectly.
