I am almost done with this round of San Diego sessions. This shoot wrapped up an awesome year with the Brocious family and I am so excited to be their photographer next year since they have a little BOY on the way. I cannot wait to see what she does with blue because it has been all sugar and spice so far.
It is official, In the last two weeks we have moved from San Diego to the Bay area. It was a long drive and I am still SWIMMING in boxes but things are falling into place. It has also been a really long time since I have lived in the bay and it was easy to get used to the sun in San Diego… buuuurrrr it’s cold here!
Before I left San Diego I took on a few last minute sessions with my good friend, Marie, who was dying to shoot on the beach. We went to my favorite spot with some of my favorite clients. I cannot wait to get back to San Diego for more sessions.
I feel like it has been forever since I have blogged!
This is Maddie and she is a MOVER, all Maddie wanted was “wa wa” that is water in big people speak.
After making funny voices, bopping myself on the head, and blowing bubbles didn’t work I decided that it was time to put on the fisheye and let Maddie enjoy some time in the water and I am glad I did because that is when Maddie loosened up, plus I ADORE fisheye pictures.
Ann, I know you’re excited!!! I hope you love them!

Whew.. It has been a long month but I am finally back in San Diego and getting back into the swing of things!
While I was out of town I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing fellow photographer Heather Love and her sweet family. It was hot, hot, hot and don’t even get me started on the mosquito’s or as Heather would say “skeeters” … us California folks don’t have quite the bugs you east coasters do but we pushed through and got some adorable images.
I have many more images to share of my trip across the country but Heather gets a post all her own. 
Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family:

I’ve been doing family photography for some time now and it never stops amazing me that no matter the form the family comes in, it’s always so beautiful! I feel so blessed to be able to document the lives of others, it’s a truly unique and wonderful feeling.

Following Ava as she grows through her first year. She is now almost 8 months old and one of the daintiest babies I have ever met. I just love her to bits!

Her “best friend” is the ceiling fan. I had to test this theory and yes, the fan is her best friend.

In just a few short months the YOU family will be welcoming a new brother for little Joshua. I was so happy to be able to document this special time in their lives. These will be some of the last family photo’s they have before this beautiful family of three becomes a gorgeous family of four.
I am falling a little behind on my blogging lately..it has been a bit busy around here I will try to catch up on my blogging this week.
This little guy is four weeks old and I was pretty convinced he would be too old to do any of the newborn “curled up” shots but much to my surprise he was an angel and slept for half the session.
My favorite pictures are those that do not need an explanation and this shoot was full of them. My friend Kristin Rachelle (also a San Diego photographer) asked me to photograph her family and if you have met Kristin you will know that she is a blast so I couldn’t resist the opportunity! There are lots of “say cheese” moments in this shoot but of course I picked the funny/wacky ones because that’s just how I am.
