When I first moved to the Bay Area, Laurie is the first person I met and the first person I was able to call a friend. Laurie and her husband Chris have been waiting for this baby for quite some time and I am beyond excited for them and feel so blessed to be able to give them this gift of photos so they can cherish every second because as they say.. time moves faster when you have children.

Every time I go into the city for a photo shoot I find a new place, a new texture, or a new ally.. it’s just an amazing place and it’s been a lot of fun exploring and having fresh locations to work with. Last Friday I explored the city with my client, Karyn, she was such a good sport too because I knew where I wanted to go but I didn’t know where it was… So it was up the hill, down the hill, around that corner, or Wait! No, around THAT corner. We finally found the spots I had in my head and we no doubt took the long route. I felt so bad.

Luckily, the walking and hill climbing was worth it because we got some suuuper cute shots. I had the hardest time picking my favorites. Keep an eye out for for Karyn’s little bundle on the blog in the next few weeks. Rest up and enjoy your maternity leave, Karyn!

I have been thinking about how I was going to write this post but thinking led to procrastination and procrastination is leading to a very impatient best friend so I am just going to wing it and keep this as short as possible because I could go on and on forever.

This is Lindsay and she is my best friend of over 20yrs and that statement alone makes me feel a million years old… We grew up together in Great Falls, MT. My fondest memories are the many weekends spent at her grandma and grandpas ranch playing with all the cool animals, admiring this awesome doll house her grandma had in their basement, tie dying shirts in her front yard [my dad used to get so mad at me because I would steal his undershirts for the project], or rummaging her other grandmas attic for trinkets.

I was this super dorky kid, I had braces, acne, and huge red glasses [apparently the dorky glasses stayed with me]. Because I was so awkward I didn’t have very many friends and when new people moved into the neighborhood I would go over and ask if they had “any kids for me to play with.” Lindsay moved in right across the street and since that first day we were inseparable.

Lindsay wasn’t as awkward as I was, infact she was even sort of cool… I remember asking her once why she preferd to hang out with me instead of the popular kids to which she replied, “I just like you better.”

When I was 13 I moved away and since then we have stayed in touch and try to see each other about once a year. Even though we don’t see each other every day we’re still very much the best of friends. My oldest daughter has Lindsay’s middle name.

Over the last few years I have patiently awaited becoming an Auntie and now the wait is finally over! It was decided that I would fly to Tennessee to do a newborn session and then my lovely husband surprised me with a flight for her to come to San Francisco for maternity shots as well. It was rainy and gloomy the entire time she was here but we managed to make the best of it.

I love you best friend and I cannot wait to meet your sweet baby girl in June!

WOOT WOOT! You’re thinking.. “she looks familiar??”

I just completed a baby plan with Miss Orousha when she found out she was pregnant again! I think she keeps getting pregnant to keep me around. Little does she know, she is stuck with me forever!!

I flew to San Diego a couple of weeks ago for Orousha’s maternity shoot and it was the rainiest week of the year.. my last day there was like a monsoon! We just hung out, we spent some time at the house, we spent some time at the park, and then we went downtown to my favorite staircase. If I looked half as cute pregnant I would be pregnant all the time.

Love my clients. Especially the goofy ones and the Appels are super goofy

Dave and Shannon are expecting their first baby, well, their first baby of the human variety… their first “child” is pictured below and I hope that Bosco the Boston Terrier didn’t keep a tab of how many times I said “treat” to get his attention.. about 387 times.

Shannon was little nervous about her maternity shoot but she is one HAWT momma! I told you that you would look fabulous!

Introducing Dave AKA Baby Daddy AKA Art Director AKA Underwear Model.. Dave felt exceptionally uncomfortable in front of the camera except for when he was posing himself … When I finally let him off the hook about 5 Min’s later he shows up in a shirt that says “baby momma” (like the movie) on it… apparently he got over his camera fright. I took the picture and threatened to post it on the blog.. you were || this close pal.

Can I just say, I have the most adorable clients ever! Alexandra is obviously no exception. Just a couple weeks from her due date and she stopped into Modish Maternity to book a mini session. Love my adorable clients!

It could not have been more appropriate to end a spectacular year with a really fun photo shoot!

Maternity sessions are always so much fun for me, but I rarely find couples who have even more fun than I do! Enter Anya and Brian! What an incredible duo! They were an absolute blast and the result was one funtastic photo shoot! As a photographer they were an ideal client, up for anything and SO much to work with! As you can see, when a client is up for anything, I make sure to take advantage! We covered just about everything!

Husbands everywhere sit up and take notice!

We wives are noticing more and more men like Lamine. Men who do not give hotbox flowers and stale chocolates for birthday gifts. Men who deliver the goods. Yes, Lamine set the bar very high for husband’s everywhere when he treated his beautiful wife, Alexis, to a maternity session for her birthday! With a new baby girl due in just a few short weeks, what could be sweeter?

I had such a great experience shooting this fun couple! The love between them radiates!

And can I just add that I loved how Alexis rocked that red dress!
