Annabelle Update - Ashley McNamara - San Diego Photographer

I have gotten lots of emails from people saying they are keeping the Linden’s in their thoughts and prayers so I wanted to post an update because Annabelle is scheduled to enter the world at 1:00pm today.

The Linden’s could use some positive thoughts…your support is always appreciated.

Here is an excerpt from their Blog

“Always the over-achievers, the Lindens have decided to forgo the next week and a half of anticipation and are set to welcome Annabelle to the world today. Holly began having some mild contractions this morning at about 5:30. They called their doctor a little later in the morning and he said to come on into the hospital. They arrived there at about 8:30, and after being monitored for about an hour, they have scheduled the C-section for 1:00 today.

Matt will keep me posted by phone and may send along some pictures from his phone. I will keep you updated on their progress throughout the afternoon.”

Annabelly - Ashley McNamara - San Diego Photographer

Meet Matt and Holly  Linden a beautiful couple pregnant with their first baby, a little girl named Annabelle.

I received an email from a friend of Matt’s she wanted to set up a shoot but was not sure if Matt and Holly would be up for it, she told me their story and it brought me to tears. I immediately offered to do the shoot for free.

Matt and Holly have been married for 16 years, “we were the first of all of our friends to get married and the last to have children.” Matt said.

Half way through Holly’s pregnancy they were given some sad news…their little Annabelle has a severe form of Spina Bifida, their neurosurgeon  has only seen one case as severe and the baby lived for only 4 hours outside the womb.

Holly and Matt will have their precious baby girl on Aug 16th..say a prayer, send some positive thoughts, and hugs. They are so strong and love each other so much but I am sure they appreciate the prayers.

You can read more about Annabelle HERE! AND HERE! SUPER BIG THANKS to my good friend Kristin who went on this shoot with me..I so appreciate you girl!!

Williams Family Session - Ashley McNamara - San Diego Photographer

One of the best things about living in San Diego is that we are a vacation destination!! This means I get to shoot people from ALL over!

The Williams family come to us from Indiana and I seriously wanted to put them all in my pocket and take them home..

I loved them soooo much that we made our session a two parter! haha!

The littliest William (Logan) REALLY wanted to be on my “website” which I think means my blog…so I have an extra special picture for him.. Logan was particularly good at armpit farts…Now let me tell you, armpit farts require special skills so he was super proud of himself…As he should be..

So without further ado, Williams family enjoy your sneak peek!

Logan demonstrating his special skills..

Jackson and his SUPERMODEL looks.

Breaking eachothers fingers…good times. HAHA!!!

Because pretty soon - Ashley McNamara - San Diego Photographer

My baby will be too big for shirtless overalls…

Each year as I near closer to my babies birthday I realize that before I know it he is not going to be a baby anymore…I finally came to accept that he is two and no longer one and now three is creeping up on me. It’s just NOT fair!!!

People always say “cherish the moments because they grow up so fast.” This is so very true. Everyday he does something new and just yesterday I said “come here baby!” and he said “Mommy, I not a baby anymore.”  It just breaks my heart.

So today I wanted to take a picture of my BABY! A little moment frozen in time so when he does grow up on me I can look back and smile.

I love being a photographer…

Good to be back - Ashley McNamara - San Diego Photographer

Did anyone miss me?

I have been on “vacation” for the last three weeks, who knew vacation could be so exhausting..hence the quotes..

While on vacation my good friend Pam Biasotti asked me if I would take some pictures of her and her pup Riley and even though I was sooo totally sick and could barely say a word because my throat hurt soooooo bad!!! it was a blast.

If you don’t know Pam check her out here..

Anyhow, the spiders and thorns were worth it I am loving these shots and Ally was up for anything!

Nancy, enjoy your sneak peek..Sorry it took so long! :)

She lost a tooth 2 days before the shoot hehehe.

Urban Senior - Ashley McNamara - San Diego Photographer

Ok, seriously…I don’t remember girls being this good looking when I was in high school or even in college.. I am having so much fun with these shoots that I am feeling kind of guilty calling this a job.

This is Susan and she is actually in college not high school and next year she will be transferring to UCLA and she will then go on to get her law degree…so good looks and smarts!

Susan, it was such a pleasure shooting your gorgeous self. Enjoy your sneak peek!!

Baby Hummingbirds - Ashley McNamara - San Diego Photographer

So a couple of days ago my daughter came home with a nest of itty bitty hummingbirds, she said that she and her friend found them in their nest in the street…

poor little guys…. so she brought them to me and asked if she could take care of them..I told her no she couldn’t because they had a mommy who missed them.. The little guys looked hungry so we did some research on humming birds and with them being that young they can’t eat the man made nectar for more than 24 hours or it will harm them..and apparently they also need to be fed like 4 times an hour..so we called some hummingbird rescue numbers (5 to be exact)  and no one answered..Sigh…

Well after all that we went back to where we found them and looked for a place to put them and we finally placed them in a bush,  sheltered from the wind, but off of the ground and we really hoped momma hummingbird would come and take care of her babies (we were hopeful) but  we knew that they had a better chance out there than they had here..I felt terrible. They were so cute.

Being the animal lover that I am I really didn’t sleep that night thinking about those little guys so about 5:30am I went outside to check on them and one baby had been EATEN BY SNAILS!!  They were up pretty high so that was crazy…but the other one was alive so I scooped him up and brought him home..I thought that it would be better for him to die with me than be eaten alive my carnivorous snails…so we fed him sugar water and he was doing really well..super feisty little guy!  We finally got in touch with Project Wildlife and drove 30 mins up the road and gave him to them…I am so glad I went and checked on him.. :(

I took a couple of pictures of them..I couldn’t help it. hehe..Its not often you see a Hummingbird up close especially babies…They are sooooo small! About the size of a prune.
