When I first moved to the Bay Area, Laurie is the first person I met and the first person I was able to call a friend. Laurie and her husband Chris have been waiting for this baby for quite some time and I am beyond excited for them and feel so blessed to be able to give them this gift of photos so they can cherish every second because as they say.. time moves faster when you have children.

Ever since my first meeting with the Cassara family I’ve loved them. You know when you just connect with people? That’s how I feel about Rebecca and Dan, they’re just adorable. They booked early and i’ve been counting down the days until their shoot.
Let me introduce, little Reese, she is dainty, adorable, and a little feisty. I cannot wait to photograph her in the future. Congratulations, Dan and Rebecca she’s adorable and I got THE shot.

Jessica, you had me at “floor to ceiling windows.” as a photographer there is no other term more beautiful and not only was the light amazing but so are Kennedy’s parents, little Kennedy is adopted, I know what you’re thinking, “Really? she looks just like her Dad!” to which I agree.
I don’t think there is any greater gift than adoption and I feel so blessed to be able to capture this special time in the Hanson’s lives. The beginning of such a wonderful experience, Parenthood.

This month has been just awesome.. We moved (just down the street) and i’ve had two of the sweetest sessions. 2011 has been a busy one that’s for sure. As a little distraction from the boxes that crowd my living room I wanted to sit down and put up a blog post of the sweetest and probably the chubbiest baby I have ever photographed, Baby Brooks… I could have snuggled him all day.

Yesterday I woke up with a plan, I was taking the kids to school, editing until 3pm, and then going to shoot a maternity session for PJ .
Boy did plans change.
I noticed as I sat down at my desk that I had a couple of texts, one said, 11:35pm “Headed to the Hospital to get checked… think my water just broke!” I was wracking my brain, thinking of who it could be because I don’t have any newborns due until the end of December, and then found out it was PJ..
I instantly felt excited and bad at the same time, PJ was super excited about her maternity session and now she was going to miss it. I Decided that, that wasn’t an option and (thankfully) having the day almost free I suggested that maybe a birth session was in order because, darn it, we were going to shoot today.
PJ had been in labor since midnight so I rushed over to the hospital hoping not to miss the good parts. PJ was tired but excited, she’s been waiting for this baby for quite some time. I have never seen someone smile so much through delivery… that could have been from the epidural though.
Every time I photograph a birth I am amazed and fascinated. We women are amazing, growing perfect little people in our bellies. PJ was amazing through the entire thing, she kept rubbing her belly saying, “Remember what we talked about… shoot right on out like a Canon.” and at 12:13pm, Canon Morgan was born on his daddies birthday, December 1st, 2010, welcome to the world little man.
