Holy fun/amazing family batman!

The Strasner family was a blast to shoot. I love when clients are into their shoots and the Strasner family had so many ideas and even better they were up for anything. We started downtown and ended at the beach in Del Mar it was so cold and cloudy in San Diego but we made it work.

How do I explain how fun this shoot was? I think I will start with this photo.. it explains it all.

Newborn Photography on the Today Show – Ashley McNamara – Bay Area Photographer

I am sure you have seen the buzz around the Internet about the awesome segment on the Today Show about newborn photography. I was so excited to see something I am so passionate in take center stage, I appreciated all of the emails from clients asking me if I had seen it and telling me that the segment reminded them of me. I am super flattered. I am excited for the photographer profiled and this amazing publicity she received but I am also super excited to see child photographers in the limelight. Family Photographer – Maddie – Ashley McNamara – Bay Area Photographer

This is Maddie and she is a MOVER, all Maddie wanted was “wa wa” that is water in big people speak.

After making funny voices, bopping myself on the head, and blowing bubbles didn’t work I decided that it was time to put on the fisheye and let Maddie enjoy some time in the water and I am glad I did because that is when Maddie loosened up, plus I ADORE fisheye pictures.

Ann, I know you’re excited!!! I hope you love them!

Family Photographer – Love-Sanders Family – Ashley McNamara – San Diego Photographer

Whew.. It has been a long month but I am finally back in San Diego and getting back into the swing of things!

While I was out of town I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing fellow photographer Heather Love and her sweet family. It was hot, hot, hot and don’t even get me started on the mosquito’s or as Heather would say “skeeters” … us California folks don’t have quite the bugs you east coasters do but we pushed through and got some adorable images.

I have many more images to share of my trip across the country but Heather gets a post all her own.

I ran across this quote shortly after I finished processing the following pictures for the Digius family and thought I’d share it. I’ve been doing family photography for some time now and it never stops amazing me that no matter the form the family comes in, it’s always so beautiful! I feel so blessed to be able to document the lives of others, it’s a truly unique and wonderful feeling.
